While most participants were relatively local—Edmonton, Calgary and points be-
tween—the oldest, biggest, brassiest, and windiest car came all the way from
Whitby, ON for this event and a
subsequent tour the week after in
southern BC. Hugo and Linda Ver-
meulen’s magnificent 1906 Ford
Model K touring boasts a 40-hp,
straight-six engine of 405 in3 dis-
placement, and an open two-
speed planetary transmission.

Our gang took over Innisfail Bowling Lanes
on the Friday evening and enjoyed several
hours of animated visiting, countless pizzas
and some remarkably poor bowling scores.
The proprietor arranged for the adjoining
side street to be closed for the duration,
thus providing group parking and a pop-up
car show for the locals to view.
Second oldest car on tour was this de-
lightfully shabby 1915 Studebaker tour-
ing driven by Pat McKenna and Ray
Fowler. Pat’s rig features a 30-HP, 192
in3 four (with non-detachable cylinder
head!) and a 3-speed transaxle in the
rear. No enclosed trailers for these
guys...
